CubeDAO Governance¶
Disclaimer: CubeDAO is utilizing experimental, unfinished technology. Development priorities and features may change based on research, user feedback, and other factors.
Overview¶
CubeDAO governance allows $CBIT token holders to influence the direction and features of The Cube gameserver. By holding and staking $CBIT, users gain voting power to participate in decisions about future features, policies, and updates.
In the early stages of the project, governance decisions will primarily be managed by the CubeDAO core team. This approach prevents potential manipulation or hostile takeovers during crucial development phases. As CubeDAO matures and the token distribution expands, the governance structure will transition to a community-owned DAO by 2025, giving $CBIT holders full control.
Voting and Founders Pass¶
- Voting Power: Voting influence is proportional to the amount of $CBIT held.
- Founders Pass: Holders of a Founders Pass have increased voting weight, giving them greater influence on governance outcomes.
For submitting and voting on proposals, visit the Proposals Portal.
Cube Improvement Proposals (CIP)¶
The Cube Improvement Proposals (CIP) framework provides a structured way for the community to propose changes to the CubeDAO protocol. This process encourages community-driven innovation, ensuring that all voices contribute to protocol evolution.
Governance Flow¶
- Proposal Initiation: Members submit initial proposals.
- Community Deliberation: Discussions and feedback help refine ideas.
- Community Vote: Signals readiness for consensus.
- Consensus Approval: A formal vote determines if the proposal proceeds.
- Implementation: The development team implements approved proposals.
Proposal Stages¶
- Request for Proposals (CRP): Highlights areas for improvement without proposing specific solutions.
- Cube Improvement Proposals (CIP): Details specific improvements, including technical updates, protocol changes, or governance adjustments.
Governance Mechanism¶
The CubeDAO Consensus Group oversees governance, ensuring proposals reflect community interests. Proposals undergo discussion on the CubeDAO Discord, where community feedback shapes decisions. For final sentiment analysis, CubeDAO uses Snapshot polling. Approved CIPs then move to implementation by the development team.
Community Platform: For proposal discussions and feedback, join The Cube | CubeDAO Discord.
Smart Contracts¶
CubeDAO uses multiple smart contracts to facilitate governance, staking, liquidity mining, and in-game transactions. Below is a table of key smart contracts and their purposes:
Contract | Purpose |
---|---|
Cubit ($CBIT) Token | $CBIT governance and rewards token (ERC-20) |
Founders Pass | Founders Pass for added voting influence (ERC-721) |
CUBE Staking | Manages $CBIT staking |
Staking Multiplier | Calculates staking multiplier |
Staking Penalties | Manages staking penalty fees |
CUBE Mining | Manages liquidity mining |
Mining Multiplier | Calculates mining multiplier |
Mining Penalties | Manages mining penalty fees |
Transaction Handler | Enables gasless transactions |
In-Game Shop Proxy | Handles in-game shop purchases |
This governance framework enables CubeDAO to evolve based on community input, ensuring that protocol updates and improvements are aligned with user needs. Through decentralized governance, CubeDAO aims to maintain a robust, user-led platform.
